How To Enable Aero Glass In Windows 7 Starter or Home Basic

Introduction: Ok guys, this post will show you how to enable Aero glass features in Windwos 7 home basic or Stater. So heres a picture for proof:

Step 1: Visit WinAero.

Step 2: Now scroll down untill you see a link called 'View all 25' or something like that. Click that.

Step 3: First download and install 'Aero Patch 1.4'. Then scroll down and go to the next page. then download and install 'Personalization panel 2.5.  This is what you need for Aero glass but there are also other cool stuff like wallpaper changer etc..

How To Hide Or Show 'Hidden Folders'

Introduction: So, today I'll be showing you how to show or hide hidden files or folders. Their main object is to prevent accidental deletion of important files, I recommend to keep them hidden.

Step 1: Firstly, open Windows Explorer and navigate to where you see the hidden folders or want them to be shown.

Step 2: On your top-left you'll see a button called 'Organize'. Click it, then in the drop-down menu, select 'Folder and search options'.

Step 3: In the new dialog box, navigate to the 'view' tab. Then select either 'Show' 'Don't Show Hidden Files, Folders And Drives.'

How To Use 'Speech Recognition' In Windows 7

Introduction: This is a pretty neat feature in windows 7,  it is easy quick and adjusts to you voice. It was first introduced in early versions of Windows 95 and Windows 98. But was not 'good-enough'. But now Microsoft, in Windows 7, raised the bar pretty high.



Things You'll Need: 
Any version of Windows 7
A Microphone

Step 1: First go to Control Panel and select Ease Of Access. Then select 'Speech Recognition' ,not ' Start Speech Recognition'.

Step 2: Now select 'Take Speech Tutorial', in this they'll tell you about many commands and how to dictate and correct spellings. (Remember to connect your microphone.)

Now just go through the tutorial and enjoy controlling your PC with your voice.

Remember that this is still a work and progress and might get you frustrated sometimes.

How To Change Icons In Windows 7

Introduction: Hey guys, today i'll show you how you can easily change icons in Windows 7, it also applies to other versions of windows.



Step 1: Locate the folder or file, whose icon you want to change.

Step 2: Right-click it and select properties.

Step 3: Now go to the Customize tab and click change icon.

Step 4:  Now, just choose a icon you like and click OK.

How To Change Mouse Pointer Settings

Introduction: Obviously, these settings are used to customize the 'mouse' to your liking. Some of the settings include: Speed, Size , Appearance etc.



Step 1: Open the start menu and type 'Mouse settings' and choose the first result, that is 'Change mouse settings'.

Step 2: Now you just gotta experiment with all the available settings. it's that simple

How To Take A Screenshot Of Your Screen

Introduction: First, let's make it clear that we'll be using the button 'Print Screen' for this purpose. Now, why would anyone wanna do this, well one simple example is to make tutorials easy to understand.



Things You'll Need: A keyboard that has a 'Print Screen' or 'Prt Sc' button.

Step 1: Find a place of which you want to take a screenshot of, a common example is a folder.

Step 2: Press the print screen button.


Step 3: Open a image editing software, Windows default is MsPaint, that'll do just fine.


Step 4: Press 'Ctrl + V' or on the toolbar click 'Edit > Paste' 


Step 5: Press 'Ctrl + S' or 'File > Save' , to save your image, you will need to add a name to it, as well. 

How To Use Windows Sound Recorder

Introduction: You would want to use 'Sound Recorder' for many purposes, especially  if you're using 'Windows Movie Maker (for W7) ' which no longer includes the narration feature. Windows Sound recorder is also the default sound recording tool in all versions of Windows.



Things You'll Need:  
  • Windows XP, Vista, 7
  • Microphone
  • (Optional) Script, if you're narrating


Step 1: Open the start menu and type 'sound recorder', and click the result.

Step 2: Connect your microphone, if you already haven't.

Step 3: Press the Record button and speak into the microphone.

Step 4: When done, press stop and choose a name and place to save your recording.

How To Change The Taskbar Settings In Windows 7

Introduction: Ok, first of all why would you or anybody would want to do this? Well, one the major reasons is that by changing it you can make it easier to access and you'll be able to customize it, not only the Taskbar but the Start Menu as well. So let's get started!



Step 1: Its probably better to close any unnecessary programs, after you've done that simple right-click the Taskbar and select Properties.

Step 2: Be creative! Customize it to your needs, for example, on the Taskbar tab you'll see and option that'll say 'Use Small Icons' check it, then click apply. Apply allows you to set the changes without ever closing the settings box.

Transfer Files Using Bluetooth

So, today i'll show you, how you can transfer files or folders to another computer, mobile phone or other devices with Blutooth, in Windows 7. 

Things You'll Need: A bluetooth enabled device, a bluetooth enabled PC.


                                                                                 

Step 1: Open start menu and type "fsquirt" or "Bluetooth file transfer" and select the displayed option. Now there is one other option, press the " Windows key + 'R' " to open RUN, then type "fsquirt". 

Step 2: Now you have to choose either to send or to receive files, we'll go with Send. Click Send.

Step 3: Now remember, in this step, your computer is searching for Bluetooth enabled devices, make sure your Bluetooth adaptor is switched on. And also the receivers Bluetooth be on.

Step 4: After selecting the device you're going to send the files to, you have to select the files themselves. You may browse your computer for this purpose.

Step 5: Now You have to wait for the files to be transferred, this will depend on the size of the files.

Notes: After step 4, if your files don't start transferring, the receiver may have to accept the transfer.
  
            If you cannot find your device, in step 3, make sure that if it's a mobile phone, then the Visibility option is turned on or 'Visible'.

How To Make A Setup Using WinRAR (.exe)

Introduction: 

                          Ok guys, today i'll show you how to make a self extracting setup using WinRAR. Now remember, this is better than just simply making an archive because even if a person who you share this setup with doesn't have WinRAR he will still be able to extract this because it's a self extracting setup. OK, lets get started!

Things You'll Need:

                                           1. WinRAR
                                           2. A file or folder that you'll make into a setup

                                         Steps

Step 1 : Locate the file\folder you want to make a setup from.

 Step 2 : Open WinRAR, and click WIZARD in the toolbar, then in the dialog box select Archive, then next, then browse to your desired file\folder, then select Self Extracting then finally Finish.
      There, Now you have a self-extracting setup.
